Packing requirements belong in the quotation request. Agree how the goods will be protected, identified and counted before shipment, especially when one order contains several materials and sizes.
Describe the delivery conditions
Provide destination, expected transport and handling arrangements, storage requirements and any project packing specification. Ask the supplier to describe the proposed protection and package type. Do not assume one packing method suits every destination or material.
Build a package marking list
Agree the order reference, package number, item references, quantities and any required batch or heat identification. Keep package labels consistent with the packing list and product records. If customer labels or language requirements apply, send the approved artwork or wording before packing.
Avoid mixed-item confusion
Ask how different grades and sizes will be separated and how small components will be identified. Confirm whether the packing list is organized by package, by order line or both. Request the agreed package dimensions and weights for logistics planning, rather than estimating freight from product photographs.
Common question
Does a packing photograph prove every item is correct? It is supporting evidence, not a replacement for the item list and inspection records. Confirm documentation and any destination-specific packaging requirements with the relevant logistics parties before dispatch.
