An inspection checklist should come from the purchase order and approved technical documents. Define acceptance points before production so the supplier knows what must be recorded before release.
Connect checks to order lines
Identify the product, material, standard edition, drawing revision and quantity for each line. List required dimensional checks and document references without substituting a generic checklist for the project specification. Name the person or organization responsible for accepting deviations.
Separate records from witness activities
State which reports must be submitted and whether any activity requires attendance or advance notice. If an independent inspector is required, agree the scope and scheduling responsibility. Do not assume a standard sales quotation includes unlimited inspections or every possible material test.
Close outstanding points
Before shipment, compare the completed checklist, product identification, packing list and agreed document package. Record any missing item, responsible party and resolution. If a requirement changes, update the approved instruction rather than silently accepting an undocumented substitution.
Common question
Does a remote photo replace inspection? A photo can document visible details but does not prove all dimensions or material properties. Select the evidence required for the actual order and have acceptance made by the responsible project personnel.
