Purchase specification Specify the carbon steel grade, product standard and edition, DN or NPS, wall thickness or schedule, elbow angle, radius, end connection and quantity. State seamless or welded construction where required by the project. Supply the drawing when installation space or end preparation requires a specific check.

Inspection, documents and packing State the required material documents, inspection scope, marking and packing in your RFQ. These items, any proposed alternatives and the delivery schedule should be confirmed in the written quotation and order. Do not assume optional tests or documents are included.

Preparing your enquiry Send an itemized quantity, destination country or port, requested delivery date and the drawing or bill of materials if available. For mixed orders, give each line its own specification so products and quantities remain traceable.

Frequently asked question Is 'carbon steel elbow' enough for a quotation? It identifies the product family, but the quotation also needs the grade, size, thickness, angle and radius. Schedule describes a wall-thickness series; it must not be used on its own as a working-pressure value.

Identify the turn angle and bend radius, then match both ends to the pipe outside diameter and wall thickness. LR, SR and radius-to-diameter designations describe geometry and must be checked against the drawing. Include any straight tangents, bevel preparation and installation-space constraints in the inquiry.

Technical specifications

Confirm the material grade, dimensions, pressure class and standard together against the approved drawing before ordering. Schedule denotes wall thickness, not a pressure rating.
