Application Scenarios

Flanges and pipe fittings for water distribution

Illustrative uses of pipe components, not records of completed customer projects. Suitability must be confirmed against the approved project specification.

    01

    Overview

Water distribution assemblies can require branch connections, changes in direction and flanged interfaces around pumps or valves. This guide explains which purchasing details help coordinate these components. It describes an application, not a supplied customer project.

    02

    Requirements

State whether the service is drinking water, industrial water, raw water or another medium. Provide design conditions, installation environment and the specified corrosion-protection or lining system. Drinking-water contact approvals, where required, must be specified and verified separately; they are not implied by a steel grade or coating name.

    03

    Product selection

Use the project drawings to identify pipe dimensions, branch sizes and the exact flange mating pattern. Specify facing, gasket and bolting requirements for review together. For coated products, define the coating system, inspection requirements and protection of ends and joint areas; do not assume every coating is suitable for every water service.

    04

    Products

Relevant catalogue families: elbows, tees, flanges and plastic-coated steel pipes. Request components against the same project specification so different suppliers quote compatible interfaces.

    05

    Preparing your RFQ

Send quantities by line item, pipe and flange drawings, coating requirements, required records and delivery destination. Identify any split deliveries or site identification marks needed for receiving and installation.
